math -  sorting game -  The teacher sorts objects by one characteristic.  Students must decide what the characteristic is and choose an object from the pile to sort correctly.

Language arts - Visit the media center to find fiction and non-fiction books related to a selected science concept.  After the teacher reads selected book(s), have students convey information learned through pictures and puppet shows.
