Stewardship

Everything is a gift from God, and we are stewards or caretakers of these gifts.  We are all called to develop our gifts and to share them generously with others.  We are all called to be good stewards.

St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church has embraced a stewardship way of life.  Stewardship is evident in our parish ministries where every ministry belongs to and is the responsibility of the entire parish. Therefore, our parish families are encouraged to be active members.

Our parishioners practice stewardship when they reach out and help each other, our neighbors, the Augusta community, and beyond.  We have grown in our love of Christ by sharing our God-given gifts of time, talent, and treasure.  And we have received, in return, much more than we have given.

We witness God’s blessings in so many ways at St. Mary’s, and we see God’s hand in the largest ministry of our parish—St. Mary on the Hill Catholic School.  Our school belongs to and is the responsibility of the entire parish.  Because of stewardship, active member families of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church may be able to attend the school under the stewardship policy.

The school is a wonderful blessing for our parish.  Fr. Jerry Ragan, our Pastor, explains it best:

“Our stewardship way of life affects every aspect of the parish.  It is most evident in our school.  Our parish school can successfully compete with any school in terms of the quality of its education, but the heart of this ministry is to form our children in the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
