ST. MARY’S NEWS

Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Soccer Teams on winning the Aiken-Augusta Middle School League soccer championship!  We are very proud of all of the players and coaches!

Baseball Semifinals will be held on Monday, May 1st at 5 p.m. at Eisenhower Park.  Come support the Saints!

Congratulations to all of the SMS students who participated in the Run Hard 5k at Lakeside High School last weekend.  We are proud of all of our students for reaching their goal of finishing the race.  In particular, Annika P. placed 2nd overall for the females and Hailey L. placed 4th overall for females.

Please be sure to read Mr. McBride’s email regarding the 25th Annual Monsignor Costigan Golf Tournament which will take place on Friday, May 5th at 12 p.m. at Forest Hills Golf Club.  We are 3 teams shy of our goal of 25 teams to play on Friday!  Please contact Christine Sweeney at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you are interested in playing or being a hole sponsor.

May Crowning Mass will be held on Friday, May 5th at 9:15 a.m. Our 7th grade class has requested that each SMS student bring a flower that will be added to a bouquet on the morning of Mass.  The entire student body will be processing down to Church in order of grade level, and will be processing into Church in the same fashion as part of the beginning of mass.  For any parents who plan to attend the May Crowning mass, please wait for all of the students to complete the procession into Church until sitting with your child.  You may wait in the Narthex until the procession is complete, or you may be seated on the Mary statue side of the altar or in the Day Chapel.

A reminder about grades in Specials classes: Remember that these grades are based on a different scale than students’ academic classes, and they do not go towards Academic Honor Roll.  The Specials grading scale is as follows: “E” (Excellent)=92-100, “G” (Good)=84-91.5, “S” (Satisfactory)=76-83.5, “NI” (Needs Improvement)= 68-75.5, “U” (Unsatisfactory)= below 67.5.
