 The next two weeks at a glance:

Book Fair: Classes will preview the book selections on Friday, September 22nd and will be shopping on Monday, September 25-Thursday, September 28th. We will also be hosting a family event on Sunday, Sept. 24th from 8:45am-12:00pm. Families and friends are welcome to shop at the book fair while enjoying coffee, juice, and donuts.

Please join us for the first PTO Meeting on Tuesday, September 19th at 7 PM in the cafeteria. Sample appetizers made by faculty will be served. Thank you for all you do for SMS!

We will have our first Pep Rally of the year on Friday, September 29th at 1:50pm to recognize our student athletes and coaches participating in fall sports, the SMS Band, and our newly elected Student Council.  Eighth grade athletes will be recognized for their dedication to SMS sports.  All students may wear Spirit Uniform which includes any SMS T-shirt with jeans or navy shorts, and tennis shoes.  Please email Mrs. Leonard, This email address is being protected from spambots. Student Council Information:

Speeches and elections will be held Friday, September 22nd beginning at 1:50pm

Applications and speeches are due by Tuesday, September 19th

Campaigns may begin on Monday, September 18th.  Candidates may hang one poster per hallway and may handout stickers or other campaign material; please no candy.

Officers will be announced on Monday, September 25th.

Parents, please refrain from letting fellow visitors in the building during the school day.  This applies mainly to pep-rallies, assemblies, and other events during the day that family members and friends may be attending.  For the safety of all of our students, we ask that all SMS visitors please enter at the front of the school and visit Mrs. Leonard’s desk for a visitor’s pass.  Thank you for your cooperation with this!
