St. Mary on the Hill

Catholic School

The next two weeks at a glance:

There has been some confusion about student socks this year.  The school handbook states that crew socks with no logo are allowed for boys and girls.  A crew sock is a shorter sock that covers the ankle.  Young ladies are also permitted to wear knee socks.  If you have specific questions about this, please feel free to contact the administration.

SMS is still using Coca-Cola MCR Rewards Program.  Last year, SMS earned money from Coca-Cola simply for entering coke products on their website.  Please go to and click on “donate to your local school.” Search “St Mary on the Hill.”  It is even easier to sign up at on your phone and SCAN the reward code. Also, we are happy to collect your coke product codes and enter the codes. Please send them to Mrs. Leonard and she will distribute them to Amy Rose or Michelle Ciamillo.

Please note that the Lunch Menu has changed for Thursday, August 31st.  Oven baked chicken has been replaced by Boneless Pork Chop.  Please note, we will be sending the September Lunch Menu early next week.

The fall season for the Run Hard running program is about to begin! Grades 2-5 may register at by 9/3/17.  Please contact SMS parent Kelly Miller at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Our PTO is still in need of chairpersons for the committees listed below.  We would be so grateful if you would consider chairing one of these positions.  All of them are only one-time a year so it will not be something that will be a full-time commitment the entire school year.  Please contact Allison Greene if you are interested in volunteering and/or chairing for one of these events:

Fall Carnival Auction Chairpersons (August-October)
Teacher’s Luncheon (February)
St. Patrick’s Day parade (March)

Our Fall Open House will be held on Thursday, November 2nd from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This year’s PAGE Academic Bowl competition is Saturday, December 9th. Since this is the same day as our parish 100th Anniversary Celebration, we will not be hosting the competition this year.

In a Christ-centered atmosphere, the mission of
